Quick Slant: Kilgore had won seven in a row since opening the season with back-to-back losses against Nacogdoches and Corpus Christi Flour Bluff until the regular-season finale last week against Henderson. The Bulldogs enter the playoffs, averaging 27.0 points per game for the season and 31.4 in district, while allowing 19.6 points per game. … Kilgore RB Ja'Quorius Smith rushed for 180 yards against Henderson, bringing his totals for the season to 1,280 on 189 carries (6.8 yard avg.) and 14 touchdowns. QB Patrick ‘Buddy' Jackson follows with 712 yards rushing and 6 Tds. Jackson is 40 of 71 passing for 452 yards and 4 touchdowns. His leading receivers have been Cole Wood (10-115, 1 Td) and Kamron Carbonneau (7-67, 1). Kilgore's offense is averaging 335.6 yards per game. … The Bulldogs leading tacklers continue to be LBs Mason Shelton (106) and Ty Wallace (89).
