LINDALE — Sam Sitton hurled a six-inning no-hitter as Lindale shut out John Tyler 10-0 on Friday in District 16-4A action.

Sitton, who also doubled, improved his overall record to 8-0 on the year as the Eagles (11-6, 1-1) won their first league game of the season.

Ryan Dudley added a double for Lindale, which took advantage of eight JT errors to score 10 runs on five hits.

Whitehouse’s Cheatham no-hits Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE — Whitehouse’s Ryan Cheatham struck out 10 as he no-hit Jacksonville in a 9-1 victory.

Cheatham walked two batters, one of which came around to score, though no Indians managed a base hit.

Cheatham also aided his own cause with a double and three RBIs.

Patrick Mahomes and Aaron Clemens each had two hits while Michael Nuon batted in two runs for the Wildcats (13-5, 2-0 District 16-4A).

Romines grand slam sparks Red Raiders past Mesquite

MESQUITE — Robert E. Lee scored 15 runs on nine hits as the Red Raiders picked up a 15-4 victory over Mesquite on Friday.

Lee (11-6, 3-1 District 12-5A) scored 12 runs over the final three frames to secure a six-inning win. Ben Romines hit a grand slam in the fourth to give the Red Raiders a five-run cushion it would not relinquish.

Grace Community racked up 14 hits as the Lady Cougars outslugged Dallas Christian 15-8 on Friday.

Fallon Roberts went 3 for 4 with two doubles, three RBIs and three runs for Grace. Chelsea Clark, Taylor Kingsley (double, three RBIs) and Haley Evans (double, two RBIs) all had two-hit performances for the Lady Cougars.

Kingsley allowed four hits and struck out four in a complete-game effort in the circle.
