Canaan Klaassen struck out 13 in a complete-game two-hitter as Grace Community edged Dallas Christian 1-0 to take over first place in TAPPS 2-4A on Friday.

Jacob Wadle singled up the middle to score Jacob Spitzer, who reached on an error, in the first inning for the game’s only run as Klaassen outdueled his counterpart, Jacobey Tipton.

Klaassen (4-2) walked one and hit one, but didn’t allow a runner to advance past second base. He threw 74 of his 106 pitches for strikes.

Tipton allowed five singles and one unearned run for the Tigers (8-2 TAPPS 2-4A). He struck out five with no walks.

Spitzer had a game-high two hits along with scoring the only run. He led off the fourth with a single off the rightfield wall, only for Chad Pruitt to gun him down trying to stretch it into a double.

Blake White and Call Florence notched the other two hits for the Cougar (12-5, 6-1). Florence threw a runner out stealing.

All Saints secures two road victories

DALLAS — All Saints picked up a pair of wins in the Metroplex, beating Trinity Christian-Cedar Hill 16-0 and Carrollton Prince of Peace 6-1.

The Trojans scored 13 times in the second inning for a four-inning win over the Tigers. All Saints tallied the 16 runs on 10 hits and six errors. Jack Hamm’s double was the lone extra base hit of the game.

Trojans pitchers held the Tigers to one hit.

In the second game of the afternoon, Rock Caruso went 2 for 4 with three RBIs in the win over the Eagles. Charlie Short was 3 for 3 and Aston Francis added two singles.

Parker Towns allowed one run in five innings to earn the win on the mound.

Brook Hill edges Edgewood, 4-3

EDGEWOOD — Ryan Young’s RBI double completed Bullard Brook Hill’s rally for a 4-3 victory over Edgewood on Friday.

The Guard trailed 3-1 after four innings before scoring twice in the seventh. They held the Bulldogs to one earned run on one hit.

Clayton Engel had two hits and Jonah Gonzales doubled and scored twice for Brook Hill. Drew Robertson, a recent Tyler Junior College signee, batted in two runs.

Wildcats rout Trojans, 18-8

TRINIDAD — Cayuga pushed 18 runs across to defeat the Trinidad Trojans 18-8 Friday in a District 19-1A baseball game.

Brayden Walthall got the victory, coming on in relief of Cayuga starter Preston Anderson in the third inning.

The game was close until the Wildcats blew it open with four runs in the fourth, fifth and five in the sixth.

The game was called after the sixth inning because of the 10-run rule. Cayuga (15-3) moved to 7-1 in district with the win while Trinidad dropped to 3-5.

Payton Wallace reached base five times and scored four runs while Chantz Holland had two hits and scored three times. Cayuga also stole 13 bases as a team in the game.

The Wildcats will next take on Cross Roads at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Cayuga.
