QUITMAN - The No. 9 ranked Harmony Eagles scored early and often en route to a 63-6 win over Quitman at Bud Moody Stadium, moving to 4-0 on the year and setting up a battle of unbeaten, ranked teams next week when the Eagles host the White Oak Roughnecks.
On Friday, Spencer Seahorn put Harmony in front with a 1-yard run with 3:13 to play, and then tossed a 51-yard TD pass to Caleb Hart with less than a minute remaining in the opening quarter as the Eagles built a 12-0 cushion.
Mike Edmonson rambled 73 yards for a touchdown early in the second quarter, and Harmony quickly turned things into a rout with a 41-yard TD pass from Searhorn to Hart, a 1-yard run by Edmonson and a 73-yard scoring dash by Nick Hoelscher.
Harmony added to the lead 21 seconds into the third quarter on a 24-yard TD run by Edmonson, who later sprinted 23 yards for another touchdown to add to his big night.
Barrett Hill got into the scoring act with 5:05 to play in the third on a 17-yard run as Harmony built a 60-0 lead heading into the final stanza.
Erik Arriaga's 18-yard field goal capped the scoring for Harmony. Wacey Warren helped Quitman avoid the shutout with a 3-yard TD run with 11 seconds remaining.
