HIDEAWAY — Led by medalist DJ Godoy, the Lindale Eagles captured the Lindale High School Invitational at Hide-A-Way Lake Club on Monday.
The Eagles combined for a 321 to win by 14 strokes over runner-up Sabine (335). Whitehouse placed third at 342.
Godoy was first with a 67. Sabine’s Jared Streeter was runner-up medalist with a 74 and Hallsville’s Devin Jackson was third with a 75.
Others on the first-place Lindale team were Garrett White (80), Mason Terry (86), Logan Frazier (88) and Caleb Rutter (93).
Joining Streeter on the Sabine team were Collin Gray (83), Austin Gray (74), Spencer Gregory (94) and Tell DeFreece (98).
Cody Gilbert led Whitehouse an 80. Other Wildcat golfers were Reed Bedard (86), Jordan Hilburn (87), Coleman Watson (89) and Drake Briscoe (91).
Spring Hill tied Whitehouse at 342, but the Wildcats won the playoff for third. Hallsville was fifth at 344, while Van was sixth at 356.
There were 17 teams entered.
