The teams entered the game with the district crown on the line — Lee at 10-1 and Horn at 9-2.

After trailing at halftime, 28-17, the Lady Raiders used a huge third period, outscoring the Lady Jaguars 26-6 to take a 43-34 advantage.

Alyssa Thorne, who led Lee with 17 points, scored eight points in the key third quarter.

Others scoring for REL were Aaliyah Morgan (13), Aaliyah Cambpell (11), Hannah Hayes (9), Taliyah Mumphrey (7) and Vanessa Hayward (3).

Also members of the championship team are Micaelah Igaya, Ella Rook, Rose Rook, Markesha Allen and I’Onna Jones.

It was the eighth straight win for the Lady Raiders, who improve to 27-6 overall and captured the district title with an 11-1 record. Horn drops to 9-3 in district and will be the runner-up team in the playoffs.

Rockwall is the third-place team from 11-6A with Rockwall-Heath No. 4.

The bi-district playoffs are scheduled for Feb. 17-18.
