GARLAND - Robert E. Lee struck first Friday at district leading Sachse, but the second-ranked Lady Mustangs replied with an avalanche of goals in a 6-2 loss.
The Lady Raiders (2-4-2 1-1, 9 pts in 11-6A) got on the board in the early minutes when Priscilla Rincon beat a couple defenders before laying off a pass to Carly Wyatt, who scored the game's opener.
Sachse (8-0-0, 24 pts) answered with three straight before halftime, two of them coming on set pieces. The Lady Mustangs tacked on another early in the second half.
Lee's Alex Bice won a penalty kick when she was brought down in the box, and did the honors herself, but the Lady Raiders couldn't pull any closer while Sachse added two more to its lead for the 6-2 final.
"We've got to quit giving up so many goals," Lee coach Chris Woodard said.
"Our defending and goalkeeping has got to improve, and we're capable of it. We're making little mistakes that are making big outcomes in the game.
"We got the toughest team out of the way and now we have to win three or four."
The Lady Raiders are at home Tuesday against Rowlett with kickoff slated for 7:15 p.m. at Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium.
In the JV game, Lee edged Sachse 1-0 on a goal from Carla Bustos off an assist from Iris Pacheco.
