FRANKSTON — Frankston’s Michael Warren and Treston Coleman signed national letters of intent together Wednesday morning.
Warren signed with Rice, while Coleman inked with UT San Antonio.
“It’s pretty rare for a school our size,” Frankston head coach Scott Wells said.
“We are fortunate and blessed.”
The ceremony took place in the FHS library, where Warren’s family and friends were in attendance. Both are excited about the embarking on new adventures.
“As far as the academics aspect, it’s one of the best in the country,” Warren said of Rice. “With the fact that there’s a football aspect of it, I fell in love with it.”
Said Coleman: “It’s everything a kid could ask for. Me and Michael have worked hard and finally we’re here. It’s a blessing.”
Wells spoke about each player.
“Mike is unbelievable in the classroom and academically,” Wells said.
“His test scores are through the roof and on the field he’s unbelievable, too. He’s a good fit for Rice.
“Treston has had several offers and stuff. UTSA seems like the best fit for him with (coach Larry) Coker there.”
