PLANO — The East Texas Christian Academy Lady Panthers are headed to the state volleyball tournament.

ETCA scored a 3-0 win over Woodlands Prep of Tomball in the regional championship on Saturday at Pope John Paul II School.

The Lady Panthers (15-7) won 25-10, 25-19, 25-16 to earn their first state tournament bid.

The TAPPS Class 1A Tournament begins on Friday in San Antonio. ETCA will play Wichita Falls Notre Dame in the semifinals at 9 a.m. at the Alamo Convocation Center.

Standouts on Saturday for the ETCA were Shannon Stewart (6 kills, 3 blocks), Amanda Stephenson (5 kills), Courtney Craig (4 kills), Jenny Munoz (10 assists), Haley Robertson (9 digs) and Lauren Smitherman (8 digs).
