LINDALE - A missed extra point by Lindale in overtime gave Corsicana a 21-20 victory over the Eagles Friday in tightly contested District 16-5A contest at Eagle Stadium.
The overtime victory is the fifth in extra time for Corsicana this season, which ties a national record. All five of Corsicana’s (5-3, 3-0) wins have come in overtime and the Tigers have allowed a touchdown in the extra session all five times.
This is Corsicana’s fourth overtime win in a row. The others have come against Nacogdoches (23-20), Jacksonville (41-38), Manor (23-17) and in its season-opener over Red Oak (13-7).
Jordan Robinson scored on a 63-yard run for Lindale in the first half as the game was tied 7-7 at halftime.
Lindale tied the game 14-14 with 23 seconds remaining. John Woods powered over for the Corsicana with the PAT giving the visiting Tigers a 21-14 advantage.
The Eagles were able to answer, but missed the PAT to end the game.
The loss dropped Lindale to 1-7 and 0-3 in district.
