BULLARD - Offensive lineman Ruebon Carreon put the finishing touches on an impressive area playoff win for Carlisle, recovering a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown as the Indians rolled to a 42-14 win over Cayuga in a Class 2A Division I area playoff game on Young Field at Herrington Stadium.

The Indians (11-1) move on to face either San Augustine next week. The game is set for 6:30 p.m. Friday at Maverick Stadium in Marshall. Cayuga ends the year with a 7-5 record.

Tristan Craig completed 15 of 19 passes for 227 yards and also rushed for 73 yards. Mason Pendleton rushed for 77 yards.

Carlisle took an early lead on a 20-yard touchdown pass from Tristan Craig to Jay Price, but Cayuga answered with touchdown runs of four yards by Colton Bock and 1-yard by Tristan Davis to lead 14-7 after one.

The Indians scored the final 35 points, including 14 in the second quarter on a 2-yard run by Craig and an 18-yard TD pass from Craig to Jose Servin.

In the third, Craig scored on a 2-yard run and Mason Pendleton added a 4-yarder to boost the lead to 35-14.

The final score came with 5:33 to play when Carreon pounced on a teammate’s fumble in the end zone following an 18-yard completion.
