BULLARD — Bullard made it two homecoming wins for second-year head coach Shannon Wilson with a 36-18 win over Westwood on Friday at Panther Stadium.

Bullard quarterback Colton Mebane ran for 98 yards on 11 carries and opened Bullard’s scoring with a 10-yard run that gave Bullard an early 7-0 lead.

Bullard running backs Houston Alexander (seven carries, 59 yards) and Tanner Schmidt (eight carries, 47 yards, two TDs) followed suit.

Haden Bryant led Bullard receivers with three catches for 57 yards, and also ran for two two-point conversions.

It was a night of turnovers as Westwood gave up two fumbles (one for a 54-yard score from Holden Bryant), and the other recovered by brother Haden.

Bullard returned the favor with one lost fumble recovered by Westwood’s Ryan Jones, and three interceptions of Mebane thwarted scoring opportunities for Bullard.

Bullard (2-1) will play at Troup at 7 p.m. Friday.
