PLANO — Plano John Paul II jumped out to an early lead and scored a 42-10 win over the Bullard Brook Hill Guard on Friday in a non-district football game at JPII Athletic Complex.

Brook Hill (1-1) plays host to Huntington on Sept. 13.

Jake Shaffer hit a 47-yard field goal for the Guard, while Garrett Esposito connected with Carson Richards on a 25-yard TD pass. Shaffer added the extra point.

Esposito hit on 13 of 27 passing attempts for 95 yards. He added 18 yards rushing.

Shaffer hauled in five catches for 27 yards.

The Cardinals were paced by quarterback Grayson James who hit on 17 of 21 passing attempts for 371 yards and four TDs.

JPII's Grant Robinson added 124 yards on the ground with two touchdowns on 19 attempts. Jerand Bradley had seven catches for 179 yards and three TDs.
