MARSHALL — Texarkana Pleasant Grove flipped the script in its best-of-three playoff baseball series with Kilgore on Friday night at East Texas Baptist University’s Woods Field.
After Kilgore took a 10-1 win in Game 1 on Thursday, Pleasant Grove evened the series with a 10-0 decision on Friday.
The game was scoreless until the fourth inning. Pleasant Grove scored four runs in the fourth and three runs each in the fifth and sixth innings to run-rule the Bulldogs.
Keaton Russo’s only hit was a two-run home run. Parker Twisdale had two hits and two RBIs, and Jackson Cobb, Seth Hopkins and Ben Harmon all had triples for the Hawks (26-5).
Ryan Galvan pitched a two-hit shutout with three strikeouts and one walk.
Chase Hampton and Cade Pippen had the lone hits for the Bulldogs (27-6).
Brayden Johnson allowed seven runs — four earned — on seven hits with seven strikeouts and two walks in five innings. Spencer Thompson allowed three unearned runs in a 1/3 of an inning.
Kilgore committed five errors, while Pleasant Grove put up a zero in the error column behind Galvan.
