PLANO —Alex Scherff and the Fort Worth Christian Cardinals held All Saints to three hits in a 10-0 victory in the first of three-game series in the TAPPS 4A regional playoffs on Thursday at Pope John Paul II High School.

Scherff, an Arizona State commit, limited the Trojans (24-7) to doubles by Jack Hamm and Sully McCreery and a single by Charlie Short.

All Saints, which earned a share of the TAPPS 2-4A title, will look to rebound in Game 2 at 10 a.m. Friday. Game 3 will follow 30 minutes after, if necessary.

Fort Worth Christian (24-10) scored its 10 runs off eight hits and four errors. Scherff added a triple while Colton Eager hit a double. Half of the Cardinals' runs were unearned.
