Grace volleyball wins tourney

FORT WORTH — Grace Community defeated the host school in the final to win the Lake Country Christian Tournament on Saturday.

The Lady Cougars (8-2) beat the Lady Eagles 25-16, 25-13 in the championship match, with Rilee Miller leading the way with six kills, seven digs and 14 assists.

Miller was named tournament MVP while teammates Emma Yeatts, Bethany Kimmey and Taylor Kingsley were named to the all-tournament team.

Grace beat Fort Worth Country Day 25-14, 25-20 in the semifinal.

The Lady Cougars won their pool after three matches. They beat Flower Mound Coram Deo 2-0 and tied Lake Country and Gateway Christian 1-1.

Leaders in pool play for Grace were Abbie Rives (14 kills), Kimmey (13 kills, seven aces), Kingsley (11 kills), Kristin Braughton (14 digs), Kylee Stanley (14 digs), Miller (13 digs, 24 assists) and Yeatts (10 aces, 32 assists).
