Cameron Callaway carried just four times, but turned them into touchdowns as the Gladewater Bears rolled to a 62-7 win over the Spring Hill Panthers on Friday at Panther Stadium in District 7-4A Division II action.
Callaway also completed 6 of 9 passes for 85 yards. Darnell McKnight had one carry for 75 yards for the Bears. Isaiah Davis added six carries for 89 yards and a touchdown, Shawn Johnson 51 yards on nine carries, Clint Starling six carries for 68 yards and a TD and Jerome Gilmore 32 yards on six carries.
The Bears rushed for 489 yards and finished with 574 total yards.
Spring Hill finished with 31 rushes for 104 yards.
Gladewater built a 45-0 halftime lead and went up 52-0 before the Panthers got on the board with 1:19 left in the third quarter on a 5-yard touchdown run by Zach Tulpa.
The rest of the game belonged to the Bears.
Callaway scored on a 17-yard run in the opening period to get things started, and the Bears added touchdown runs of 24 yards by Davis, 1 yard by Callaway, 75 yards by McKnight, 1 yard by Callaway and 8 yards by Raymundo Alvarez before the break.
Callaway's 70-yard run in the third period made it a 52-0 contest, and after Tulpa's run got the Panthers on the board, the Bears added a 38-yard field goal by Fernando Serrano and a 45-yard TD run by Starling.
Spring Hill (3-3, 0-1) will visit Pittsburg, and Gladewater (5-0, 1-0) will visit Gilmer on Friday.
