NEW LONDON — Shay Ross scored 15 points and Kyia Moore added 12 to help Chapel Hill beat West Rusk 56-30 in girls basketball action on Tuesday.

The Lady Bulldogs pulled away in the first half to enter the break ahead 34-11.

Chapel Hill, ranked No. 11 in Class 3A by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches, improved to 4-0 on the season.

West Rusk fell to 1-1.

Bishop Gorman 44, LaPoynor 40

Brooke Lee finished with 14 points and Courtney Fergerson added 13 to spark Bishop Gorman past LaPoynor 44-40.

Lee made four free throws during the final 17 seconds to break open a tied game for the Lady Crusaders, who trailed until the fourth quarter.

Lee also finished with seven assists while Mandie VanderVorste pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds.

Cross Roads took a 19-9 lead into halftime and coasted to a 38-25 win against All Saints.

The Lady Bobcats improved to 5-0 with the win.
