The first Tyler Junior Golf Championship, presented by The First Tee of Greater Tyler, is scheduled this week at two courses, Michael Harrison, executive director of the organization said.

All registration and payment must be submitted online at The First Tee of Greater Tyler’s website, Sunday is the deadline.

There is also a Tyler Junior Golf Family Kickoff & Clinic Tuesday at Peach Tree Golf Club in Bullard with special guest Haley Mills, LPGA Shootout Qualifier and University of Kentucky signee. The kickoff is from 5:30 to 7 p.m. and will feature food, golf games and a junior clinic hosted by The First Tee of Greater Tyler and featuring Mills.

The tourney, which is Wednesday at Pine Springs Golf Course and Thursday at Peach Tree Golf Course, is for all Smith County residents (ages 7-18) as well as any active members of The First Tee of Greater Tyler living outside of Smith County.

Trophies will be awarded for first, second and third place for each division with a City Champion crowned for both the Open 16-18 girls and boys divisions.

Age divisions are 7-9, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15 and 16-18 for both boys and girls.

Players 12 and older will play 36 holes (18 per day), while players 11 and under will play 18 holes (nine per day).
