TAMPA BAY RAYS CAMP: Area baseball players will have a chance to try out for the Tampa Bay Rays in an open camp set for June 27 at East Texas Baptist University in Marshall.
Players will be evaluated on running, throwing, fielding and hitting abilities. Ages 16-21 are en courage to attend the camp, which will be conducted by Tampa scout Pat Murphy and under the direction of scout Scott Mitchell.
Registration will strt at 8:30 a.m., with workout to follow at 9 a.m.
The Rays will provide all equipment with the exception of gloves, spikes and catchers gear.

TROUP TIGER BASKETBALL CAMP: The Troup Tiger Basketball Camp will be June 3-5 at the Troup High School Gymnasium.
The camp is for grades 2-5 (8-10 a.m.) and grades 6-8 (10 a.m.-noon).
The cost is $50 if you register by May 25, and you must register by that date to guarantee a shirt size. The cost is $60 after May 25.

ARK-LA-TEX JUNIOR GOLF: The Ark-La-Tex Junior Golf Tour has set its summer schedule, which will begin on June 3 at Alpine Golf Club in Longview and include a total of 10 tournaments.
The tour will make stops at Texarkana Country Club on June 6, Oak Forest in Longview on June 10, Northside Country Club in Texarkana on June 17, Wood Hollow in Longview on June 24, The Templest in Liberty City on July 1 (adult/youth), Alpine in Longview on July 8, Oak Grove in New Boston on July 15, Wood Hollow in Longview on July 22 (adult/youth) and Pinecrest Country Club in Longview on July 29 (Tournament of Champions).
The tour is open to boys and girls. The pre-tour (9 holes) will feature coed 7-9 and boys and girls 10-11. The regular tour (18 holes) will feature 12-13 boys and girls, 14-15 boys and girls and 15-16 boys and girls.
Membership fee is $30, and tournament entry fee is $25.

LITTLE RAIDER FOOTBALL CAMP: The Little Raider Football Camp will take place May 27-30 at the Robert E. Lee High School Football Field.
The camp is for grades kindergarten-6.
The camp will run from 5:30-7:30 p.m. each day.
BEAST TEXAS FOOTBALL ACADEMY: The Beast Texas Football Academy will take place June 4-6 at the Robert E. Lee High School Football Field.
The camp is for grades 7-12.
The camp will run from 5:30-8:30 p.m. each day.
BEAST TEXAS SHOWCASE: The #bEASTtexas Showcase will take place June 8 at Stephen F. Austin State University’s Homer Bryce Stadium in Nacogdoches.
The camp is for grades 9-12.
Offensive linemen, defensive linemen, running backs and linebackers will participate from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Quarterbacks, receivers, tight ends and defensive backs will go from 2-5 p.m.
The cost is $50 for pre-registration and $60 for walk-up, and it will be limited to the first 200 campers.

RED RAIDER FOOTBALL CAMP: The Tyler Lee Red Raider Football Camp will be July 29-31 at the Robert E. Lee High School Football Field.
The camp is for grades 7-9.
The camp will run from 5:30-8:30 p.m. each day.
SOFTBALL LEAGUE FORMING: The East Texas/Louisiana Women’s Fastpitch League is forming teams with a tentative start date for games set for June 23.
The season will run through Aug. 4 (six games), with games scheduled to be played at 3 p.m. on Sundays at the White Oak softball field.
The league is for ages 18-older, including current high school and college fastpitch athletes, past high school players and college softball alumni.
Cost is $20 per player, plus the cost of team shirts, and deadline to enter is June 1.
All games will be played with two umpires and have a 1-hour, 15-minute time limit (or seven innings).

CHAMPIONS 4 LIGHT: The 5th annual Champs 4 Light charity clinic is set for Saturday, June 15 at Panola College.
Session 1 is for grades 5-8, with check-in at 8:!5 a.m. and the skills session running from 9 a.m.-noon.
Session 2 is for grades 9-12, with check-in at 12:45 a.m. and skills session from 1:30-4:30 p.m.
Cost is $40, and early registration ends on June 9.
Louisiana Tech University, Panola College, UT-Tyler, LeTourneau University, Winona High School, Carthage High School, and the East Texas Juniors Volleyball Club and Arsenal Volleyball Club will all have coaches involved in the clinic.
All proceeds will benefit Refuge of Light, an anti-domestic minor sex trafficking organization located in Tyler but serving the entire East Texas area.
