LONGVIEW —The UT Tyler volleyball team closed out the 2013 regular season with a pair of sweeps against the University of Dallas and Centenary on Saturday at LeTourneau. With the wins, head coach Suzanne Henson became the all-time winningest volleyball coach in program history.
In the first match, the Patriots dominated UD 25-17, 25-22, 25-21 in straight sets.
Rachael Harvey led the way offensively with 16 kills to go with nine digs, while Rebecca Floyd dished out 44 assists.
In the second match against Centenary, the Patriots wasted no time, winning 25-10, 25-13, 25-13 in dominating fashion.
Junior Breanna Brummett finished with 11 kills in the three games, while Maci Lott, Harvey and Kayte Stein each finished with eight kills.
Floyd finished the match with 36 assists, while Courtney Criswell finished with 16 digs.
Henson picked up her 58th win as Patriots head coach. The win against Centenary was also the 175th of her head coaching career.
The Patriots now have their sights set on the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament, beginning with a showdown with Hardin-Simmons at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday in Richardson.
