Fresh off two straight tournament victories, the UT Tyler golf team has jetted to No. 1 in the latest Golfstate Division III national poll.

The Patriots have captured 16-stroke victories at the Rhodes Invitational in Tunica, Miss., on Sept. 17 and the Al Jones Memorial Invitational at The Cascades Golf Club on Oct. 4.

The Patriots, who had previously been ranked fourth in the poll, travel to Sandestin, Fla., later this week for the Golf Week Invitational. The tournament begins on Saturday. 

The UT Tyler women’s golf team moved up to No. 15 in the Golfstat poll after winning the Al Jones Memorial Invitational. They will next see action on Oct. 15 at Tunica National. 

Also, the men’s soccer, the latest NSCAA rankings put the Patriots as the No. 2 team in the West Region and the No. 16 team in the nation. 

The UT Tyler men’s cross country team moved up a spot to No. 3 in the USTFCCCA South/Southeast Regional Poll after finishing second on the Rhodes Invitational in Memphis, Tenn., last Saturday. Only Division I Memphis finished better than the Patriots. 

The Patriots’ runners will travel north to the NCAA Pre-National Meet in Oshkosh, Wis., on Oct. 15.
