TJC Basketball

The No. 5 Tyler Junior College Apache Ladies basketball team is back in action on Wednesday, while the No. 6 Apaches are off.

The Apache Ladies, who have won 13 consecutive games, will take on Panola College at 5:30 p.m. at TJC’s Wagstaff Gymnasium.

TJC (15-2) is tied with No. 4 Trinity Valley atop the Region XIV Conference standings at 5-0. Panola enters with an overall record of 6-9 and a league mark of 2-3.

Ahead of TJC and TVCC in the NJCAA rankings are No. 1 Gulf Coast State (Florida) (15-0), No. 2 South Plains (Texas) (16-0) and Chipola (Florida) (18-1).

Other women’s games on Wednesday include: Kilgore (13-4, 2-3) at Coastal Bend (1-16, 0-5), 5:30 p.m.; Trinity Valley (16-1, 5-0) at Paris (6-9, 3-2), 5:30 p.m.; and Blinn (13-4, 2-3) at Bossier Parish (3-13, 1-4), 5:30 p.m.

The Apaches (14-0, 7-0) return to play on Saturday, traveling to Corsicana for a 4 p.m. game with Navarro College.

Ahead of TJC in the men’s NJCAA rankings include: No. 1 Ranger (Texas) (17-1); No. 2 Florida SouthWestern State (19-1); No. 3 Mineral Area (Missouri) (19-0); No. 4 Indian Hills (Iowa) (17-2); and No. 5 Pearl River (Mississippi) (10-0). Kilgore is ranked No. 19.

Other men’s games on Wednesday include: Paris (7-9, 2-5) at Panola (14-4, 5-2), 7 p.m.; Blinn (12-6, 2-5) at Lee (11-7, 2-5), 7 p.m.; Kilgore (15-2, 6-1) at Trinity Valley (11-6, 5-2), 7 p.m.; Coastal Bend (7-10, 1-6) at Lamar State-Port Arthur (8-10, 2-5), 7 p.m.; Victoria (0-11, 0-7) at Angelina (10-8, 5-2), 7 p.m.; and Navarro (11-7, 5-2) at Bossier Parish (11-5, 5-2), 7:30 p.m.
