KILGORE — Deandre Heckard hit for 15 points to lead eight Apaches in double figures as Tyler Junior College defeated Lone Star College-Tomball, 102-55, on Saturday in the Kilgore College Basketball at Masters Gymnasium.

In the second game, KC won over Cedar Valley College, 86-67.

TJC (5-0) led just 37-28 at halftime, but outscored LSC-Tomball 65-27 in the second half.

Also in double figures for the Apaches were Jackson Kennedy (14), Rory Pantophlet (13), Malik Lawrence-Anderson (13), Ryan Walls (12), Jason Bush Jr. (11), Shahada Wells (10) and Kieffer Punter (10).

Pantophlet had 10 rebounds for a double-double while Bush had eight boards. Heckard had seven assists and Wells dished out six.

TJC opens Region XIV Conference play on Saturday, Nov. 23, at Lamar State-Port Arthur. Tipoff is 4 p.m.

The Apaches’ next home game is Friday, Nov. 29, at 3 p.m. against Lewisville Creating Young Minds Academy.
