HOUSTON — Keyara Criner scored on a putback with 12 seconds left and Texas College forced a missed shot at the buzzer to beat St. Thomas-Houston 65-64 on Thursday in Space City.
The Lady Steers won despite shooting 30 percent. The Lady Steers (10-17, 10-12 in Red River Athletic Conference) were credited with 71 rebounds, including 41 on the offensive end, to complete a sweep over St. Thomas (7-21, 4-18).
Texas College couldn’t come away with the sweep, falling to St. Thomas 67-53 in a key Red River Athletic Conference men’s game.
The Steers (17-11, 13-9 in RRAC) shot 38 percent and missed a chance to pull even with St. Thomas (17-11, 15-7) in the men’s standings.
The Steers are now seventh with two games remaining in the regular season.
TC returns home Saturday to play host to Paul Quinn at 2 p.m. (women) and 4 p.m. (men).
