Demetrious Fitzpatrick hit for 21 points to spark the Texas College Steers to a 78-72 victory over Langston on Tuesday in a men’s college basketball game at Gus F. Taylor Gymnasium.

The win moves TC to 4-1 on the season, while it was the first loss for the visitors from Oklahoma as the Lions fell to 4-1.

TC forced the Lions into 26 turnovers. The Steers went on an 18-10 run in the second half, fueled by Fitzpatrick’s 17 points, and overcame a 12-point deficit, outscoring LU 43-33 in the second half.

Travion Wright came off the bench for the Steers for timely shots and big minutes, scoring 16 points and grabbing five rebounds. Christian Bryant added 12 points while going 6 of 7 from the free throw line with three steals.

Legend Barrett scored 10 points off the bench, while knocking down 6 of 7 free throw attempts.

The Steers will host Southwestern Christian University from Oklahoma beginning at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Gus F. Taylor Gymnasium.
