The UT Tyler volleyball team dropped three straight sets to St. Thomas University, 25-21, 25-17, 25-12, on Tuesday evening at the Herrington Patriot Center. 

The Patriots lost to St. Thomas 3-0 on Sept. 13 as well. UT Tyler fell to 10-6 on the season with Tuesday’s loss.

UT Tyler kept stride with the Celts in the first set and led 13-11. St. Thomas, however, won five straight points to regain the lead. 

The Patriots later tied the set at 17, but later fell behind and lost the set 25-21.

Trapp led the Celts with 16 kills and nine digs. Biediger followed with eight kills. Brittany Weiler had a game high 37 assists for St. Thomas.

Danika Waldrep led UT Tyler with nine kills. She also recorded 10 digs in the contest. Emily Wood led the Patriots with 14 digs. 

UT Tyler travels to Seguin for three games this weekend in the ASC Dig Pink Cross Over Challenge I. The Patriots are scheduled to face Schreiner and Texas Lutheran on Friday and Sul Ross State on Saturday.

They return home the next weekend to host the ASC Dig Pink Cross Over Challenge II on Oct. 7 and Oct. 8, where they will play four conference games in two days.

The Patriots are currently fourth in the American Southwest Conference East Division with a 4-2 record. UT-Dallas, Mary Hardin-Baylor and Mississippi College are tied for first with a 3-1 ASC record.
