PINEVILLE, La. — Brandon Levine and Darren Houliston combined for 42 points to power the UT Tyler Patriots to a 70-59 win over Louisiana College on Thursday in an American Southwest Conference basketball game at H.O. West Fieldhouse.

LC dropped to 6-11 overall and 6-9. Korey Salmon and Jelani Mitchell led the Wildcats with 13 points each.

Levine paced UT Tyler with 22 points, while Houliston added 20.

Others scoring for the Patriots were Larry Carpenter (6), Stephan Tarpley (5), Spencer Denmon (5), Dallas Bean (2) and Lance Murphy (2).

The Patriots outrebounded the Wildcats, 52-43.

In the women’s game, despite the combined 58 points from Melissa Thomas, Lindsey Hausmann and Shamiya Domino, the Patriots fell to the Lady Wildcats, 90-82.

Thomas led the Patriots (9-11, 6-10) with 22 points, while Hausmann and Domino chipped in 18 points apiece. Afritina Anderson led UT Tyler in rebounding with 10.

Others scoring for the Patriots were Nicole Tucker (8), Lauren Glasco (5), Anderson (4), Kayla McGoven (4) and She’Cara Humphrey (3).

The Patriots stay on the road as they travel to Clinton, Miss., on Saturday to face Mississippi College. The women tipoff at 1 p.m., followed by the men at 3 p.m.
