BULVERDE — The UT Tyler golf teams finished off the fall season with impressive showings at the Alamo Classic on Tuesday.
The men tied a school-record on the second and final day, finishing in first-place for the tournament while the ladies placed in third.
The UT Tyler men were dominant in their second first-place finish of the season, beating second-place Southwestern by 23-strokes.
Senior John Dukes shot a scorching 66 on the final day (137), propelling him to a first-place overall finish, three strokes in front of teammate Joey Rippel, who shot 69 (140) in the final round.
Sophomore Charley Graves had his best-showing of the fall season competing as an individual medalist, finishing with a combined 144 which placed him in third-place individually overall.
Trent Boudoin finished in a tie for fourth-place overall after shotting a combined 145 for the tournament.
Teammates Alex Trivanovich and Taylor Quiet helped the Patriots to the first-place finish, shooting 153 and 157 respectively.
The UT Tyler women placed third out of six teams, finishing behind fellow ASC member Mary Hardin-Baylor and Trinity University.
Marina Rhodes tied for fifth-place, firing a 158 for the tournament, while teammate Brittany Stansbury finished in a tie for 13th in the individual medalist competition.
Taylor Sloane placed in a tie for 17th-place after shooting a 166 while teammate Laura Lindsey finished two-strokes behind, good enough for 22nd-place.
Jordan Slone and freshman Megan Escoe finished the tournament shooting 172 and 179, respectively.
