The TJC tennis team is unbeaten after three rounds of the NJCAA Division I Men's National Tennis Tournament in Tucson, Ariz. Semifinal play is scheduled for Thursday.

The No. 1 ranked Apaches and No. 2 ASA Miami head into the final day of the NJCAA Division I Men's National Tennis Tournament tied for the championship lead.

Tyler Junior College the Silver Storm each have 36 points after four days of play at the Reffkin Tennis Center in Tucson, Arizona.

Both TJC and ASA have eight flights with netters and seven head to head matchups.

TJC and ASA are followed by Seward County (Kansas) (31 points), Cowley (Kansas) (27.5) and Eastern Florida State (27).

The finals are scheduled for Friday.

Several Apaches received awards prior to the tournament.

Luke Simkiss, of Birmingham, England, earned the National Most Improved Sophomore; with teammate Marcus Walters of Long Eaton, England, named the Naitonal Sophomore of the Year.

Lourenco Gasperini, of Brazil, was tabbed the Regional Player to Watch and head coach Dash Connell was named the Regional Coach of the Year.
