UT Tyler senior Alex Kochner recorded her eighth double-double of the season to help UT Tyler defeat Belhaven 74-59 on Thursday in Jackson, Miss.

JACKSON, Miss. — UT Tyler senior Alex Kochner recorded her eighth double-double of the season with 18 points and 14 rebounds to help lead the Patriots to a 74-59 win over Belhaven on Thursday in an American Southwest Conference women’s basketball game at the Rugg Arena.

The Patriots (16-8, 12-5 ASC) have won six of their last seven games going into their regular-season finale against Louisiana College on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Pineville, Louisiana.  

UT Tyler swept the season series against the Blazers for the third straight season and has won three straight road games.

The Patriots will go into the final game of the regular season in third place in the ASC East standings but would be the second seed in next week’s tournament out of the division with a win over LC coupled with an East Texas Baptist loss to UT Dallas. The Tigers and Comets meet at 2 p.m. on Saturday in Richardson with the postseason implications only remaining for the Patriots and ETBU. The Comets have already won the ASC East Division and will host the conference tournament next Thursday-Saturday at the UTD Activity Center in Richardson.
