The Tyler Junior College Apaches won their sixth straight game with Monday’s doubleheader sweep of Bossier Parish Community College at Mike Carter Field.
TJC (28-14) took Game 1, 3-2, and followed with a 9-7 in Game 2.
In the first game, Eythan Lenz got the win on the mound, going five innings while allowing one earned run and just four hits. He struck out two. Zach Aitken got the save with two spotless innings, plus two strikeouts.
The Apaches went on top 3-0 and then held off the Cavaliers. Anthony Soriano had a double and a single, along with an RBI. Kyle Sargent had two hits and an RBI.
Eric Stegent added an RBI, while Justin Monsour had two hits. Austin Drolette also added a single.
The second game was a slugfest with Blaise Warrick leading the Apaches with two hits and three RBIs.
Jacob Soisson, Connor Wrye and Monsour each had two hits for TJC, while teammates Connor McMullin and Hunter Sutton had doubles.
Derek Vogl added a single and RBI, while McMullin, Sutton (two), Wrye and Monsour had RBIs.
Colton Burleson, the starter, got the win, while Kevin Williams picked up the save. Burleson had five strikeouts.
The Cavaliers fell to 23-21.
TJC returns to play this weekend with a series in Eunice, La., against LSU-Eunice. Games are set for Friday (6 p.m.), Saturday (6 p.m.) and Sunday (1 p.m.).
