FARMERS BRANCH - The Apaches lost their second game of the season as Tyler Junior College fell to the Brookhaven Bears, 14-6, on Monday.

Patch Healey led the Bears’ 15-hit attack, going 4 for 4 with 4 RBIs. He had two doubles.

Colton Whitehouse and Hunter Wells led the Apaches (7-2) with three hits apiece. Each had a double as well. Hunter Wells added two RBIs.

TJC’s Nathan Methin had two hits and an RBI with Jared Wells, Jordan Trahan and Austin Ballew adding singles. Jared Wells had an RBI as did Beau Buesing.

The Apaches held at 6-5 lead before the Bears scored five runs in the bottom of sixth and four in the eight.

TJC returns to Mike Carter for a weekend series with Vernon College. There is a single game set for Friday beginning at 3 p.m. A doubleheader is slated for Saturday with the first game set for a noon start.

It was the Bears (2-7) first home game of the season. Brookhaven hosts Cedar Valley in a weekend series, 2 p.m. on Friday and a DH on Saturday (11 a.m. and 2 p.m.).

The Apaches and Bears meet again on April 13 in Tyler.
