Tyler Junior College fell from No. 4 to No. 10 in this week’s NJCAA National Poll, released Tuesday from Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The Apaches (3-1) lost their first game of the season Saturday, a 40-23 setback to Northeast Oklahoma A&M, but remained the highest-ranked of the Region XIV teams.

TJC stayed ahead of No. 12 Blinn (4-1) and No. 13 Trinity Valley (3-1), both teams the Apaches have defeated this year.

Kilgore College (2-2) dropped from No. 15 to out of the Top 20, but was second in receiving votes.

Copiah-Lincoln (Mississippi) garnered six first-place votes to maintain its spot atop the poll as the Top 3 remained the same. Copiah-Lincoln was followed by fellow Mississippi school Nassau (three first-place votes) and a pair of Kansas schools: Coffeyville and Butler, the latter of which took TJC’s spot at No. 4.

The Apaches travel to Cisco on Saturday to play Cisco Junior College. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. for the Region XIV tilt.
