NEW CHAPEL HILL — The Chapel Hill Bulldogs begin football workouts on Monday.

The Bulldogs, who won the 2011 state championship, are expected to bounce back from last year’s 3-7 campaign.

With a young team last season, it should just be a bump in the road for Chapel Hill, which also played for the title in 2010 against Henderson.

The Bulldogs have two scrimmages Aug. 16 vs. Mabank in New Chapel Hill and at Athens Aug. 23. Both are set for 7 p.m. kickoffs.

Chapel Hill opens its regular season against Lindale on Aug. 30 at Bulldog Stadium before playing Lake Tyler rival Whitehouse Sept. 5 at Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium. Both games have 7:30 p.m. starts.
