TROUP — The Arp Tigers mounted a fourth-quarter comeback to score a 46-43 win over Frankston and clinch third place in District 18-2A boys basketball Friday night at a packed Tiger Gym.

The Indians will be the fourth seed from the district.

Arp is scheduled to play Waskom in bi-district, tentatively set for Tuesday in Tatum.

The Tigers outscored the Indians 17-7 in the fourth quarter to clinch the win.

Thomas Reese led the Tigers in scoring with 18 and also pulled down a team-high eight rebounds. Reese scored nine of his points down the stretch, with the majority of his scoring coming in the paint.

Tyrone Hunt had a good night offensively for Arp as well, scoring 12 points, including two strong put backs late into the fourth to help fuel the momentum and secure the victory. Hunt had seven rebounds.

The Tigers disrupted the Indians offense with full court pressure in the final minutes, making it difficult for Frankston to inbound the ball. The pressure forced a five-second violation and the Indians struggled to bring the ball up the floor. Despite fighting though the press, they were unable to capitalize from the free throw line going 1-7 in the fourth and finishing 5-17 from the stripe.

Kendrick Rogers was the high scorer for Frankston with 11 points. Rogers recorded a game-high nine rebounds as well as three assists.
