The Fifth Annual East Texas Playoff Preview continues this weekend with the boys high school edition, executive director Barry Barnett said. The girls preview was held last week.

Games are scheduled for Friday and Saturday at UT Tyler's Herrington Patriot Center and LeTourneau's Solheim Arena.

"It has grown in popularity with not only the fans, but for the teams as well," Barnett said. "When we first looked at the idea of hosting this event, we knew that we needed The University of Texas at Tyler. There needed to be something in East Texas that benefited the schools as well as the fans without making them drive hundreds of miles to play in a preview.

"We basically have fixed it where there is no cost to the teams to play, which is very important in these tough economic times of educational finance. One-hundred percent of the revenue from the ticket sales and donations goes to the East Texas Jet Support scholarship fund."

He added, "With the help of The University of Texas at Tyler, East Texas Jet Support, Elder Chrysler Dodge Jeep of Athens, Group M7 Design, LeTourneau University and Harbour-Smith-Harris-Merritt Law Firm, this event has grown into one of the top previews in the state.

Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for students.
