Kelsie Batten had the perfect encore after registering her 100th career victory on Friday - a no-hitter on Saturday.

Batten (19-2) was in command in the circle once again as No. 1 UT Tyler downed Concordia-Texas 8-0.

In the second game, Alaina Kissinger tossed a two-hitter as the Patriots swept the American Southwest Conference softball doubleheader with a 9-0 victory.

Both games were five innings.

UT Tyler (28-2) improved to 20-0 in ASC play while the Tornados (7-24) fell to 4-17.

The Patriots next travel to Clarksville, Arkansas, for a weekend series against Ozarks. A doubleheader is set for Friday with a single game on April 9.


Batten, who became the 11th pitcher in NCAA Division III history to hit the career century mark in wins on Friday, almost had a perfect game if not for a single walk. She struck out five Tornados. She has an ERA of 0.47.

Kaylee Prather led the offensive attack with a 3-for-4 outing. Raven Rodriguez and Jade Green added a single and double apiece.

Rodriguez had two RBIs along with KK Stevens and Lexi Ackroyd.

Contributing singles for the Patriots were Vanessa Carrizales (RBI), Stevens, Jackie Mendez, Ackroyd and Kristin Lopez (RBI).


Kissinger struck out eight in controlling the Tornados.

Rodriguez, Stevens, Mendez and Ackroyd each had two hits for the Patriots. Both Rodriguez and Stevens each had doubles.

Contributing singles were Prather, Carrizales (RBI), Green, Kelsie McEachern (RBI) and Lopez (2 RBIs).

Rodriguez and Mendez also had two RBIs.

Chole Gonzales and Samantha Zamarripa had the hits for the Tornados.
