LONGVIEW — The Tyler Junior College Apache Ladies, led by medalist Katharine Bunting, won the LeTourneau Spring Golf Classic on Tuesday at Pinecrest Country Club.

TJC had a combined score of 652. Placing second was Hardin-Simmons (716), followed by Texas A&M-International (755) and Jacksonville College (771).

Bunting fired a 154 (78-76) for first place with teammate Allyson Harris (81-79—154) tying for second with Candice Nishimura of LeTourneau (79-81—160).

Tying for fourth were Apache Lady Lisa Frauenberger (84-84—168) with Hardin-Simmons Dylan Dawson (85-83—168) and Kara Jones of St. Thomas (86-82—168).

TJC’s Alexandria Martinez (7, 85-85—170) and Maraea Durie (9, 88-86—174) finished in the top 10.

Molly Franks’ eighth-place finish led Jacksonville College. She had a score of 171 (83-88).

The Apache Ladies will now compete in the NJCAA National Tournament May 13-16 at Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Ariz.
