Seven Tyler Junior College players scored in double figures to cruise to a 121-29 win over Mountain View College on Saturday afternoon in a women’s juco basketball game at Wagstaff Gymnasium.

It is the second time the Apache Ladies (5-1) have gone over the century mark.

Brittny Norris, a 5-9 freshman guard from Dallas, led the way with 18 points, while Shernise Robinson (sophomore guard, Houston) and Victoria Kimokai (freshman guard, Houston) each chipped in 16 points.

Others in double figures were Katelyn Johnson (15), Malena Washington (14), Caitlyn Ramirez (14) and Amber Driver (12).

Driver, a freshman wing from Spring, had a double-double with 10 rebounds. Emanuel, a sophomore forward from Dayton, had nine boards as did Norris.

Washington, a freshman guard from Beaumont, and Ramirez, a sophomore forward from Shawnee, Okla., had five steals apiece.

“We have got a lot of weapons and a lot of kids who really want to play,” TJC coach Trenia Tillis Jones said. “We did some different things. We are not normally a zone team, but we played a lot of zone today.”

Victoria Livingston, a 5-9 guard from Dallas, led the Lady Lions (4-5) with nine points.

The Apache Ladies hit the road next week for three games, Monday at Cisco (5:30 p.m.), followed by the Thanksgiving weekend Collin Classic in Plano. TJC plays South Plains on Friday and Seminole State (Okla.) on Saturday. Both games have noon starts.

SMOKE SIGNALS: The Apaches open Region XIV Conference play on Tuesday against Lamar State-Port Arthur at Wagstaff Gymnasium. Tip-off is 7 p.m. The TJC men are 6-1 on the season. Both squads are in action on Dec. 4 at Wagstaff — the women play San Jacinto (5:30 p.m.) and the men meet Angelina (7:30 p.m.).
