The Tyler Junior College Apache Ladies, ranked No. 7 in the nation, open the postseason on Thursday by hosting Angelina College in the Region XIV women’s soccer semifinal.
The contest is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Pat Hartley Field on the TJC campus.
The Apache Ladies (15-2-1) won the conference regular season title with a 9-1 mark, thus securing the top seed. The Lady Roadrunners are the fourth seed with an overall record of 7-8 and a league mark of 5-5.
TJC scored two wins over the first-year program - 6-0 on Sept. 30 in Lufkin and 6-1 on 12 in Tyler.
The other semifinal pits No. 3 seed Navarro (12-4, 7-3) against No. 2 seed Northeast Texas (14-3, 7-3) on Thursday in Mount Pleasant. The contest has a 3 p.m. start. The highest remaining seed will host the regional championship on Sunday. The winner of the regional championship advances to the district tournament Nov. 5-6.
