Mrs. Sherry Aitken, 67, of Whitehouse, Texas, entered her eternal home on 1/5/18. She was preceded in death by her parents, Haskell and Thelma Salter. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Dennis and Janet Hurley of Whitehouse; son and daughter-in-law Matthew and Dawn Hurley of Rolla, MO; son and daughter-in-law Patrick and Andrea Hurley of Whitehouse; daughter and son-in-law Elizabeth and Jason Clark of Whitehouse; beloved sisters Sylvia McGraw and Sandra Buckingham of Florida; and grandchildren Alyssa Hurley, Kaden Hurley, Emma Clark, Isabella Hurley, Zoey Clark, Noah Hurley, Jonas Clark, Anneliese Hurley, Grace Hurley, Brendan Clark, and Amelia Clark.
Sherry delighted in her grandchildren, and was an expert at rocking little ones to sleep. She enjoyed a wonderful Christmas, culminating in the birth of her last grandchild on 12/27/17, before becoming ill. The family would like to thank her Sunday School class at Colonial Hills Baptist Church for the loving way they ministered to her for years during her lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be held at Colonial Hills Baptist Church on Monday, January 8th at 2 PM. The family will receive guests following the ceremony at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Southwest Transplant Alliance, who assisted with Sherry's kidney transplant 12 years ago. This precious gift gave Sherry many meaningful years to meet and enjoy her grandchildren.
