BETO O'ROURKE TOWN HALL

El Paso Congressman Beto O'Rourke will continue his campaign for the U.S. Senate in 2018 with stops in three Texas cities, including Tyler, on Wednesday.

O'Rourke will be at New Life Community Church, 1201 NNW Loop 323, at 8 p.m. for a town hall meeting after stops in Rockwall and Greenville earlier in the day. The event will include an opportunity for attendees to ask questions directly to O'Rourke.

COFFEE WITH TED KAMEL

Texas House of Representatives District 6 candidate Ted Kamel will have a coffee-with-the-candidate event at Strada Caffè, 302 E. Front St., from 7 to 8 a.m. Thursday.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY LUNCH

Dana Hodges, church alliance regional director for Alliance Defending Freedom, will discuss "Religious Liberty — Defending the Church in America" at a lunch Friday at Lakeview Church of the Nazarene, 10818 University Blvd.

Alliance Defending Freedom, an organization that advocates for the right of people to freely live out their faith, was launched by Dr. Bill Bright, who founded Campus Crusade for Christ.

The event is from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Attendees may bring a lunch or purchase a Subway box lunch on site. The public is welcome with no cost to attend.

LUNCH WITH SHIRLEY MCKELLAR

District 1 U.S. Congressional candidate Shirley McKellar will speak on Women in Politics and the state of Veterans Affairs on Saturday at Athena's Restaurant, 1601 WSW Loop 323.

Lunch is at 11 a.m. and the talk will begin at noon.
