EAST TEXAS CHRISTIAN ACADEMY I ATHLETIC EVENT, FUNDRAISER
East Texas Christian Academy's middle and high school girls recently hit the football field for some pigskin fun.
During ETCA's Homecoming Weekend in November, middle school girls and high school girls were combined on teams and battled it out on the field.
"All the girls had so much fun, they asked to start a 'powder puff league,'" ETCA Athletic Coordinator Troy Spencer said. "Until that happens, we will divide teams and play for just the fun of it."
The middle school and high school girls played two separate games Dec. 16. The event was staffed just like a regular game day at the school with a concession stand and ticket gate.
All proceeds from the games, concession stand and raffle benefited the ETCA prom.
Founded in 1979, ETCA serves pre-K through 12th-grade students and emphasizes academics, character and excellence.
