A Celebration of Life for Mike Hallmark, 77, of Tyler will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Paul's United Methodist Church with Rev. Buddy Powell officiating under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home. Mike went to be with Jesus, our Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 30, 2019. He was born May 4, 1941 in Jacksonville to John Ed Hallmark and Mary Sue Hallmark. Mike moved to Tyler as a young boy. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1961, attended Tyler Junior College and graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches. He worked in real estate and the oil and gas industry as a professional landman. He grew up in and remained an active member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. He enjoyed any outdoor activity. He was a Master Sporting Clay Shooter and traveled the State on a competitive level for many years. He also loved hunting and spending time with his family and friends. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, John Ed Hallmark and Mary Sue Hallmark; his brother, John Jordan Hallmark; sister, Sarah Summers; son-in-law, Lex Lee Kidd; and granddaughter, Leah Gayl Kidd. He is survived by his loving family including his wife of 51 years, Sandra Hughey Hallmark; son, Will Hallmark and his wife Danica; daughter, Holley Kidd; grandchildren, Reid Crenshaw, Tripp Hallmark, Trinity Hallmark, and Levi Kidd; brother, Jimmy Hallmark and wife Betty Jane; sister-in-law, Brenda Arnold and husband Leroy; brother-in-law, Gaylord Hughey and wife Rene; as well as many other loving family members and close friends. Mike's favorite Bible verse was Ecclesiastes 3:1-2, "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die. Blessed be the name of the Lord." Honorary pallbearers will be Toby Fuller, Jim Horn, Mike Pruitt, Jim O'Bannon, Carrol Bobo, Dr. Jay Harrington, Steve Fry, Ronnie Jerger, Barry Quick, Jason Gregory, Jason Burroughs, Shannon Smith, Trant Kidd, Leroy Arnold, Brian Humphries and the late Lex Kidd. Visitation is scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Tyler.
