ATHENS — Betty Jon Wilson, 75, of Athens, Texas, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2020 in Tyler, Texas. She was born November 6, 1944 in Tyler, Texas.
A Memorial will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday June 6, 2020, at her oldest daughter’s residence in Athens, Texas. She will be buried at Tyler Memorial Cemetery in Tyler, Texas.
Betty was a graduate of John Tyler High class of 1962. She worked at Arnold’s Typewriter Service in Tyler while attending Tyler Junior College. She then moved to Athens and worked as an administrative assistant for Curtis Mathes Plant.
Betty enjoyed traveling, fishing, gardening and quilting. She loved being around family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Wilson; parents, Clyde and Harriet Perdue of Tyler; and granddaughter, Amanda Morgan of Athens.
Betty leaves a loving and devoted family as survivors: son, John Andrew Wilson and wife Jodie of Athens; daughter Terisa Richardson and husband Philip of Athens; daughter, Shannon Moseley and husband DeDe of Athens; brother, Carl Perdue and wife Regina of Flint; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
