Nearly a hundred community members of all ages came out to Prestige Estates Assisted Living and Memory Care to enjoy live music, competitive corn hole, snow cones and more during a kickoff party fundraiser for the National Alzheimer’s Association Thursday.
During the event attendees were invited to join a team, organize a team or make a donation for the 2019 Walk to End Alzheimer’s that will be held later this year at 8 a.m. Oct. 26 in Southside Park in Tyler.
Community Relations Liaison JoAnne McMeans said the event was a time for families to come together and enjoy celebrating life while raising funds to find a cure for Alzheimer’s. She said she believes that “together, with God’s help, we can make a difference.”
