The British slapstick comedy “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” is scheduled to show at 8 p.m. Friday at Liberty Hall.
The film was written and performed by the comedy group of Monty Python which consisted of Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin. The idea for the film was conceived during the break between the third and fourth series of their BBC television series Monty Python’s Flying Circus.
“Monty Python and the Holy Grail” grossed more than any British film shown in the US in 1975. It has a 97 percent “Fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with the consensus: “a cult classic as gut-bustingly hilarious as it is blithely ridiculous.”
There will be a select number of coconuts available for purchase at the door. Audience-goers are encouraged to participate and quote-a-long with this funny classic. Find more information at the Facebook event page: www.facebook.com/events/750296791796052/.
