A 17-year-old girl was killed and her father was injured Monday in a shooting near Chandler.
The Henderson County Sheriff's Office said the shooting is being investigated as a homicide after the two were found Monday with gunshot wounds to the head, according to a news release.
The sheriff's office said Beverly McBride, 17, was found on a couch inside a residence in the 20000 block of Woodridge West. She was shot in the head and died at the scene, according to the sheriff's office.
The sheriff's office said her father, Gabriel McBride, 46, was found with a gunshot wound to the head and lying on the living room floor of the mobile home.
McBride was in and out of consciousness and was airlifted to UT Health-Tyler, where he was in critical condition, according to the sheriff's office.
The sheriff's office is asking anyone with information to call 903-675-5128 and speak to an investigator.
Sheriff Botie Hillhouse said he would provide updates as the investigation moves forward.
The Henderson County District Attorney’s Office and the Texas Rangers are assisting the sheriff's office with the investigation.
