From the Longview Police Department:

LONGVIEW -- On June 30, 2014 at 5:31 p.m., Longview Police were dispatched to a Hit and Run accident in the area of West Marshall Avenue and Gilmer Road. The suspect, believed to be Wesley Byron Smyth 35, of Longview, initially stole a vehicle from a local used car dealership. After stealing that vehicle the suspect was involved in the initial accident where he struck a power pole fled the scene, and abandoned the wrecked vehicle a short distance away.

The suspect then went back to the same dealership and stole a second vehicle. The suspect drove that vehicle to the area near HG Mosley and Cotton Street. There the suspect caused damage to that vehicle, making it undriveable. The suspect then fled from the second vehicle, across a small field, where he attempted to steal a third vehicle by dragging an elderly woman out of her vehicle.

Someone at the scene attempted to stop the thief from stealing the vehicle but the suspect fled the scene with the that victim still holding on to the car. The victim finally was able to get loose from the car and the suspect continued to flee. The victim, who was dragged in the vehicle, received non life-threatening injuries.

Police are still searching for the suspect who is believed to be intoxicated and may be dangerous. The suspect is believed to still be driving the third stolen vehicle described as a 2012 silver Toyota Yaris with TX LP CSL-8834.
